Afghanistan Waters Portal is an informational platform that facilitates access to knowledge, efforts, initiatives, resources and human capital on Afghanistan’s transboundary waters.

Dam Impacts Database - Oregon State University
The database contains a sample of more than 500 dams from most of the world’s major river systems, with information on social and ecological impacts. The information is geo-coded, and users can access it via an interactive map.

Environmental Treaties and Resource Indicators Service (ENTRI)
ENTRI is a comprehensive online search service for finding information about environmental treaties and national resource indicators.

Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations: Legal Database
FAOLEX contains treaties, laws and regulations on food, agriculture and renewable natural resources world-wide. FAOLEX also maintains a thematic collection of national water legislation.

International Environmental Agreements Database
This database aims to create a systematic and comprehensive catalog of all intergovernmental environmental agreements, providing environmental negotiators, treaty secretariats, scholars, students, and interested citizens with a reliable list of all historic and current IEAs.

International River Law Network
The IRLN hosts the Basin Rights of International Rivers, which proposes a basin rights model based on nature's rights for the ecosystem, human rights for the basin population, and water rights for each basin state.

International Water Law Project
The International Water Law Project provides information on international water law and policy, including treaties, articles, news stories, case law, Internet links, and other relevant information.

International Wildlife Law Database
This site contains a searchable database of over 500 current and historic wildlife treaties and related documents.

Inventory of Shared Water Resources in Western Asia
A UN-led effort to comprehensively assess the state and evolution of transboundary surface and groundwater resources in the Middle East. The inventory contains 9 surface water and 17 groundwater chapters that systematically address hydrology, hydrogeology, water resources development and use, international water agreements and transboundary water management efforts.

North American Commission for Environmental Cooperation: Transboundary Agreements Infobase
The CEC's Transboundary Agreements Infobase gives Internet users free and unrestricted access to agreements and treaties on transboundary environmental cooperation in North America.

Transboundary Water Management Database (broken link)
This actor-based database draws on information collected through a mapping project conducted by Stockholm International Water Institute Swedish Water House in 2011. It gives a snapshot of the activities, processes, projects and tools used by actors working with various transboundary water issues.

UNESCO-IHP Water Information Network System (IHP-WINS)
IHP-WINS is an interactive platform that provides users with GIS data on the state of water resources at the global, regional, national and local level, allowing users to visualize and generate maps.

US Department of Agriculture Foreign Agricultural Service
Contains information on crop health through global precipitation data by region and information on reservoir and lake levels.

WaterLex Legal Database
The database and research provided by Waterlex includes water law and policy frameworks for human rights compliance and sustainability.

OES coordinates U.S. international oceans, environmental and health policy, integrating U.S. domestic interests with geopolitical concerns.

Center for Earth Science Information Network (CIESIN)
The center specializes in on-line data and information management, spatial data integration and training, and interdisciplinary research related to human interactions in the environment.

Centre for Water Law, Policy and Science
The Centre for Water Law, Policy, and Science at the University of Dundee under the auspices of UNESCO promotes academic research, postgraduate teaching, advisory services and professional training in the area of international and national law of water resources.

Colorado River Commission of Nevada - Water Division
The Commission represents Nevada when dealing with issues regarding management of the Colorado River. Environmental Peacebuilding Global Knowledge Platform & Community of Practice
Established by the Environmental Law Institute, the United Nations Environment Programme, the University of Tokyo, and McGill University, the Knowledge Platform is a source for global information on issues relating to natural resources, conflict, and peace. The site hosts numerous publications, perspectives from leaders in the field, and a curated list of relevant international news items and blog posts on natural resources and conflict.

EROS Data Center (EDC)
The EDC stores, processes, and distributes a variety of data, including cartographic, satellite, remote sensing and aircraft data.

HydroSHEDS (World Wildlife Fund)
WWF's Conservation Science Program is currently developing a new and innovative global hydrological database, termed HydroSHEDS. For many parts of the world these data and the tools built to use them will open up a range of previously inaccessible analyses and applications related to freshwater conservation and environmental planning.

International Groundwater Resources Assessment Centre (IGRAC)
IGRAC is a UNESCO centre that specializes in regional and transboundary assessments and monitoring of groundwater resources. IGRAC hosts the Global Groundwater Information System (GGIS), which is a web-based Geographic Information System, which supports the storage, visualisation, analysis and sharing of groundwater data and information through map-based modules.

Institute for Water and Watersheds, Oregon State University (OSU)
The IWW is Oregon's federally-designated water resources research institute.

International Water Management Institute (IWMI)
IWMI works with partners in the South to develop tools and methods to help these countries eradicate poverty and ensure food security through more effective management of their water and land resources.

Managing Global Issues (MGI) Information Network
The Network is a free, on-line, searchable database designed to enlarge the international community of scholars and practitioners interested in the comparative analysis of global issues management.

NASA's Earth Observing System Data and Information System (EOSDIS) - Distributed Active Archive Centers (DAACs)
NASA's EOSDIS has a distributed system for hosting EOS mission data including hydrologic cycle data, precipitation, land cover, and many other land, sea, atmospheric, and social datasets. This page contains links to the various DAAC hosting sites.

United Nations Environment Programme: Global Resources Information Database (UNEP-GRID)
UNEP-GRID Sioux Falls is the North American Node of UNEP's Global Resource Information Database. It is in the forefront of providing information technology tools such as remote sensing, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), data management and advanced Internet technologies to address sustainable development issues. Further data and information can be found at the GRID-Geneva node.

United Nations Watercourses Convention: Online User's Guide
Provides a guide to the UNWC including in-depth analysis of the text of the Convention, definitions of key terms, and explanations of important theoretical/practical aspects of the UNWC.

Vital Water Graphics
The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) compiled this report in order to provide a clear overview, through a set of graphics, maps and other illustrations, of the state of the world's fresh and marine waters.

Water Conflict Chronology Timeline
In an ongoing effort to understand the connections between water resources, water systems, and international security and conflict, the Pacific Institute initiated a project in the late 1980s to track and categorize events related to water and conflict.

WFP-VAM Data Visualization: Seasonal Rainfall and Vegetation
The platform provides a visualization for monitoring the performance of agricultural seasons.
