PWCMT Co-Director Lynette de Silva and WRGP Alum Jahan Taganova contribute to an environmental peacebuilding study and article spearheaded by Drs. Saleem H. Ali and Nancy E. Boyer of the University of Delaware. “This article develops a qualitative model of how land and natural resources (including minerals, water, forests, and agricultural products) contribute to the framing of conflicts and how they might contribute to their resolution.” It’s in a Special Issue of the Negotiation Journal–Why It Worked.

This Special Issue emerges from a two-year, multi-university research project that tackled questions such as: what actually helps societies rebuild, after decades of armed conflict? What sparks lasting peace in even the most divided regions? Drawing lessons from 70+ years of intractable conflicts, the interdisciplinary teams explored what drives successful peace transitions. This research was designed and led by Harvard Kennedy School’s Negotiation and Conflict Resolution Collaboratory.
